Snow Bike Build Essentials

The snow bike parts on this page are a good starting point for building a snow bike. For a modern 450 motorcycle these parts should be on every snowbike build if you’re wondering where to start. We aim to stock snow bike build essentials for the most recent two versions of KTM, and Yamaha. The 450’s from KTM and Yamaha seem to be the most popular motorcycles that people are converting to snow bikes, so we focus on those, but do stock a run of parts for Honda as well.

  • C3 Coolant heated snowbike bars

    C3 Coolant Heated Handlebars

    Price range: $227.95 through $296.95

The C3 coolant heated bars are a great addition to any snowbike.  You’ll need an aftermarket thermostat from either C3, or Thermobob to plumb the bars up.

A few advantages of coolant heated bars is that you don’t need to keep pressing a button to turn them on or off like an electric heated grip.  They stay warm even after the bike is turned off, so if you take a quick break from riding, and get going again, it’s warm bars again, instead of fiddling with buttons.

Another great feature is that you can reduce the electrical consumers on your bike.  What this means, is that if you choose the 5w headlight from C3, you can usually run the OEM stator in your bike which has enough juice to power the headlight.  Thus saving you upwards of an $150 stator upgrade.

We get questions about reliability, and people being worried about having a crash and destroying the bars, or lines getting torn out.  We’ve ran these bars for 3 seasons in a rental fleet, with zero failures, so we’ve found them to be very reliable.  We would suggest however you carry a few extra fittings / extra cooling line tube to re-route one of the bypass lines directly from the thermostat to the return line in case of an event that compromises the system.

Call us for install tips as the push to connect fittings can be a bit tricky to know for certain if the lines are seated all the way.  With a couple tips you’ll be on your way to a effecient and sound install!
